The Caregiver Resource Center, providing a valuable service to our community

Caregiver Resource Center

The Caregiver Resource Center, located at the Senior Friendship Center in Sarasota, is a one-stop information center for those who are dealing with the stress and issues relating to care-giving. The Center offers not only internet access to current care-giving information, but a variety of programs designed to meet the needs of those providing care to loved ones.

Care-giving is often lonely and presents many challenges. The staff at the Caregiver Resource Center offers support through workshops, access to information, and a dedicated group of volunteers that know first hand the challenges care-givers face on a daily basis. They offer a care-giver support group for those caring for someone with a dementia related disease with meeting scheduled during the day and the evening to allow anyone interested to attend.

Boyer & Jackson is a supporting organization of the Caregiver Resource Center. More Specifically we support the Center by participating in the C.A.R.E. program, a four series program designed to help care-givers provide better care for their loved one while taking care of their own emotional and physical needs. We speak to care-givers on the legal issues they need to be aware of and the necessary documents that would allow them to effectively manage the financial and health issues related to care-giving.

The Center is located in the west wing of The Living Room, on the campus of Senior Friendship Center at 1830 Brother Geenan Way, in Sarasota. They are open Monday through Friday from 9am to 2pm and all services are free. Contact Paula Falk at 556-3268 if you wish to make an appointment, get more information, or sign up for the C.A.R.E. program.
