AARP Foundation’s Confidential Organizer

When we finally reach the point where we can examine our lives with the enhanced perspective of age, many of us fail to create the written documents that express our values and allow us to maintain control of important decisions. AARP Foundation believes that all of us have “the power to make it better,” and we encourage you to create your life’s legacy by design, not by default. Be proactive. Be strategic. Take charge of creating your legacy through which your voice can be heard.

To help get you started, we’re pleased to provide AARP Foundation’s Confidential Organizer. This Organizer can help you in two potential ways:

Obtain better cost estimates from potential attorneys: Completing the Organizer prior to interviewing potential attorneys will enable you to answer questions that will help the attorneys estimate how long the process will take and how much it will cost, based on your specific circumstances.
Reduce final costs of the entire planning process: By documenting and sharing written information on your entire financial picture and potential beneficiaries with your selected attorney, you reduce the amount of time that your attorney will need to collect and organize this information.
AARP Foundation is here to help you create your personal legacy. If you have any questions, please contact us at Legacy@aarp.org.
