Wills

Why have a will?

A will is a document that provides for the distribution of an individual’s probate assets at the time of his or her death and according to his or her own desires. Without a will, the person’s assets would be distributed according to a Florida statute that provides for a standard distribution of certain relatives.

What is a living will?

A “living will” is a written document or witnessed oral statement that clearly outlines the individual’s wishes with respect to the use of life-prolonging procedures. Life-prolonging procedures means any medical procedure, treatment, or intervention that uses mechanical or other artificial means to sustain or restore a spontaneous vital function when applied to a patient in a terminal condition.
